Join Creative Barnsley at the Digital Media Centre on Thursday September 2nd at 6.00pm for the inaugural Girl Geek Dinner South Yorkshire (SoYo).
In the vein of successful Girl Geek Dinners from across the UK and beyond, this event is a great opportunity to bring together women working and studying in the creative, digital and technology sectors across the region.
Our speakers for the evening are Silvia Novak, Consumer Marketing Manager at Faber Books and Rain Ashford, Senior Producer at BBC Learning. The evening includes a preview of 'QRChing' an interactive artwork by artist Jo Pearson that references social media, eastern philosophy and emerging technology.
The event includes:
- Welcome drinks and informal networking
- Dinner (please indicate dietary requirements when booking)
- Presentations from our two amazing speakers Silvia Novak and Rain Ashford
- Opportunity to network with Geek Girls Allowed members and tap into what's happening in the geeky girlie world of Sheffield and South Yorkshire
- A wonderland of girl geekery including the artwork QRChing by Jo Pearson!
Places are FREE however we reserve the right to charge an administration fee for tickets booked but 'don't show'. If you book a ticket please let us know if you are unable to attend. Men are welcome if accompanied by a girl geek!
